Marzipan pear ghosts

  • 2 pcs pears
  • 350 g Black coloured marzipan dough
  • 50 g Orange coloured marzipan dough
  • 20 g Orange coloured marzipan dough

  1. Peel the pears. Cut some pulp from the bottom, enough to give some stability for the pears sitting on a plate.
  2. If you have some, prick a wood stick into each pear's top, but this is optional.
  3. Divide the white marzipan dough into two parts.
  4. Form a ball from the white marzipan parts.
  5. Roll the marzipans into thin layers with circle forms.
  6. Cover the pears with the white marzipan.
  7. Roll the coloured marzipans too and cut out the wanted forms for eyes and mouths.
  8. Push the forms onto the pear ghosts.
  9. Serve and let the kids enjoy the treat.

Good points

  • No cholesterol
  • High in vitamin B6

Prepare the ghosts only on the day of serving. Leaving the marzipan for a long time (more than an hour) on pure fruit pulp, may make it sticky and it will start to melt.
